New Addiction

Sorry I have been slacking on blogging cute pics of our adorable children......I have found a new addiction. My name is Julie Dell and I am a Facebook Addict. It all started when a fellow mom on my WAGR Yahoo group started a "cause for WAGR Syndrome". It helps raise money for the IWSA. Now I am finding peole that I haven't seen in years and also chatting with people I see almost everday. I love it! Anywho, I haven't taken many pictures lately, but I promise to take some later this afternoon. We have snow and I promised the kids we would play after school. So, I am off to do some cleaning so we can freeze our buns off outside in a bit. Pictures tomorrow...I promise!

Rescheduled Appointments & Singing Debut!

We got Hayden's ultrasound rescheduled for Feb 23rd. I can't believe the roads were that bad on Monday....I didn't even know we were to get anything! Hayden saw the ENT on Tuesday and he is scheduled for surgery to get he adenoids and tonsils out on Feb 17th. Therefore I had to reschedule his allergist appointment from that day and an eye appointment from the next day. Yes, Feb. is a busy, busy month with the doctor. In other news, Hayden's singing debut at the Kevin Sharp concert is on the Truck Convoy website http://www.truckconvoyforwishes.com/. Brian and I watched it last night. Oh, did we laugh! Next year I expect all our friend and family to go to the concert.....you never know, it might be the Kevin Sharp and Hayden Dell concert!

Say A Prayer

Update: Had to cancel ultrasound. Roads were too bad. The hour drive would have taken us well over two with the way the roads were and traffic was moving. Playing it safe! Hayden is having his three month kidney ultrasound today to check for Wilm's Tumor. Please pray the scan is clear and his kidneys are fine.

Dang Girl.....You've Improved!

As some of you know Miss Maddie is playing Basketball again this year. She played in 1st and 2nd grade too. It was a basic skills league. Well this year she plays two games every weekend. She also practices twice a week. We are very impressed with how much she has improved just since the beginning of the season in December. All of the girls have improved tons. Last week they won their second game by one point. Talk about nerve racking!!! I don't know what I will do when she gets to high school! My heart was pounding and Iwas up and down in my seat. My mom was laughing at me, I just couldn't sit still. Maddie may be little, but she can pack a mean punch. She has really come out of her shell and we are so proud of her. Brian said she did awesome at practice Monday night too. She kept stealing the ball and dribbling down the court and making shots. The coaches asked Brian what he fed her because they said she was on fire. I don't think he told them we only had Hamburger Helper :-) Monday night is usually quick dinner night because I work, basketball, etc. Yada, yada, yada....I'll admit, I feed my kids junk sometimes......okay, a few times a week. I asked Maddie if the girl was mad that she kept stealing the ball from her. She shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know mom, but it's all part of the game." I'm thinking okay, you've improved and got wise? How did you grow up so fast?

Here she is in action....#11

This morning I was headed to the YMCA with the boys to work out. I went upstairs to get my socks and a sweatshirt. I was up there about 90 seconds. I came down stairs to find that someone got inot the cans and proceeded to do the following....................................

If you look at the picture above closely you can see the trail of chicken and stars soup. It leads from our kitchen through the dinning room, onto the living room carpet and onto the couch. The culprit.............................................. You guessed it ACTION JAXON!!!!!! He even has it on his feet. Let's just say Mama's was not very happy concidering yesterday Hayden got into the refrigerator to put his fake food in there. He went to move the full jug of lemonade and it fell on the floor, yes the lid popped off and yes lemonade was everywhere......did I mention the jug was FULL??!!

Boys will be boys I guess!!

Make A Wish + Kevin Sharp = Good Times!

We had the priviledge of attending the Partners in Hope concert with Kevin Sharp for the Make A Wish Foundation on Friday night. We were only four rows from the stage. We had such a great time. If you don't know about Kevin Sharp and MAW here is the short version.... At age 17 Kevin was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma (a form of bone cancer) that also spread to his lungs. They weren't sure if he would live six months and he was referred the the Make A Wish Foundation. His wish was to meet David Foster, producer/performer. To everyones surprise Kevin went into remission and has been since 1991. His friendship with David helped launch his dream of singing. Kevin never forgot the MAW Foundation for what they did for him. He is now a national spokesperson for MAW. For more about Kevin visit his website. Hayden's picture is on it in the "fan photo" section from the MAW Convoy last year. Hayden and some of the other MAW kids were invited up on stage to sing row, row, row your boat. Hayden did want to go up unless Mommy took him.....not something I wanted to do! I handed the camera off to Brian and didn't show him how to record video :-( In Hayden fashion he grabbed the mic from Sherry and went to town. I am in search of the video. If I find it I will post, it was so cute! I would like to ask for some prayers for Kevin. His father passed away last Tuesday, three days before the concert. How wonderful of him to still think of the children and still do the concert. The concert was dedicated to his dad and he sang a terrific song about him. Also, as you can see from the pics Kevin is looking very skinny. He has been sick for a few months, nothing cancer related though, praise God. Here is what is quoted from his website: "12.2.08 Kevin Recovering From Major Surgery: We are happy to report that Kevin is out of the hospital and at home resting after having major surgery on Thursday November 20th, 2008 (Vagotomy Subtotal Gastrectomy w/ Gastro Jejunoilleal-Bypass Roux-En-Y). Though Kevin hasn't been feeling well for several months now it was a recent second opinion that probably saved his life. It's important to know that the surgery was not cancer related but rather damage to the digestive system related to a severe acid and ulcer condition. Kevin wants to thank everyone for all your positive thoughts, prayers and continual love and support. You truly give him strength. His full recovery could take a few months (All shows and/or appearances will go forward as scheduled.) so we ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers."

Please keep Kevin and his family in your prayers. He is a great man and we wish him the best!

You will have to pause the music below to hear the video. The last part of the video you can barely see, but it is Hayden dancing. He had fun!! It was great to hear him sing along with the songs.

After the concert we got to get autographs and pictures. As Maddie asked him to sign her program he leaned into her and say, "Hey there! You're kinda cute!" and gave her a big smile. Maddie just shrugged her shoulders and smiled. Thank you Make A Wish Foundation, Thank You Kevin Sharp!! We had a fantastic time and we will cherish it forever. See you at the 8th Annual Make A Wish Truck Convoy. Can't wait!! < /p>

Friends

"Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you." - Elbert Hubard This weekend we got to spend Saturday night with six of our most favorite friends and their precious kiddos. We enjoyed some yummy food, some Wii bowling, stories, lots of laughs and my favorite - some great pics....
The girls

The guys

Missy and the kids.....except Jax, he was in his mood! Mama Dell and Hayd Jaxon and Miss Brynn watching Mickey on the computer.
Buddies - Hayden and John
Brynn and Maddie (Look at Brynn's eyes....gorgeous!)
Jaycie and Maddie (They could pass as sisters)
McKenzie and Missy (How cute!)
We have all been through alot together. Some of us have grown up together, some of us went to school together, we have been there for marriages, babies, happiest of times, and our most difficult times. We have all seen each other at our best and at our worst and yet we still like each other.....go figure! Thanks, my friends, for sharing a great evening with us. And thanks for all the yummy food! (Jen, there are only a handfull of your cookies left...Thanks for the extra pounds!) Until next time......
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In other news....we had such a great Christmas break. I loved that the Dell5 got to spend so much time together as a family over the pass two weeks. We slept in, made late breakfasts, played games, spent time with other family, and just plain 'ole hung out and did nothing!
Although I loved being out of sorts, I am ready to get back to our regular schedule. The kids were a little tough to get up this morning. Maddie groaned when I told her it was time to get up, Jaxon was still sleeping on my shoulder as I carried him down the steps, and Hayden, well, he wins the prize for funniest kid of the morning.
As I woke him and told him, "time to get up and take sissy to school", his response was..."but I'm sleeping, Mommy!" I laughed and left the room telling him to get up and I went down to start my coffee. He came fumbling down the steps and walked back to the bathroom still half asleep, so I thought. He was trying to go to the bathroom, but he was awful far away from the potty. I said, "Hayden stand closer to the potty or you might not make it in!" his response, "Oh Mom....go make your coffee!" I never laughed so hard, Hayd was giggling too. What a great way to start the morning!
Here is a picture of Maddie ready to get back into the swing of school. We started a new thing of curling her hair. Now she wants to do it everyday. Doesn't she look cute? She is growing up way too fast!
